with or without you

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you

Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And Im waiting for you

With or without you
With or without you
I cant live
With or without you

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

My hands are tied
My body bruised, shes got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

With or without you
With or without you
I cant live
With or without you

With or without you
With or without you
I cant live
With or without you
With or without you

the distance

The sky has lost its color
The sun has turned to grey
At least thats how it feels to me
Whenever youre away
I crawl up in the corner
To watch the minutes pass
Each one brings me closer to
The time youre cominback

I cant take the distance
I cant the miles
I cant take the time until I next see you smile
I cant take the distance
And Im not ashamed
That with every breath I take Im callinyour name
But I cant take the distance

I still believe my feelings
But sometimes I feel too much
I make believe youre close to me
But it aint close enough
Not nearly close enough

I cant take the distance
I cant the miles
I cant take the time until I next see you smile
I cant take the distance
And Im not ashamed
That with every breath I take Im callinyour name

I brave fire and I brave rain
To be by your side Id do anything
I cant take the distance

I will go the distance
I will go the miles
Thats how much you mean to me
cause I cant take the distance
I cant take t...

ashes to ashes, dust to dust

some bigger things are scary, like change

some smaller things are scary too, like these photos of a cemetery turning to ash

cebu chinese cemetery
3rd saturday of oct. 2008
holga 120 CN
120mm Fuji

the cemetery is not really a solemn and scary place to be. turned out, the place is a community. houses, with hinayhay outside. a kindergarten school in a posh mausoleum. boys sliding down the ludo marker, and rendering us a rap/hiphop song that, i think said, "ang buhay ng isang gangster ay hindi madali." some guys playing basketball. :)

Aside from the book being small and handy and okay to browse thru while commuting, the small 145-page book is brimming with cool photographs taken by Mr. Moyen through a pinhole camera.

Mr. Moyen, a Frenchman, uses a pinhole camera, which, according to Wiki, is "a very simple camera with no lens and a single very small aperture." The pinhole is a light-proof box with a single hole in one side. Light from a scene passes through this single point and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box. per the advice of many, i tried using 135mm films in my holga. but, these pics are not just from ordinary films, but from expired films.. specifically, i used expired solid gold films. this is, again, my first time to use an expired film..

i don't understand the red portion of the pictures..

but i love how the sprockets [that's the wholes at the top and bottom of the film] are included in the whole photo

these pictures were taken during my trip home, to lazi, last

antulang, zamboanguita, oriental negros
valencia, oriental negros
philippines

Antulang: [in Zamboanguita, south of Dumaguete] about 30 minutes by bus from Dgte., another 30 minutes by motorcycle taxi, a/k/a habal-habal. After lunch, spent the whole time sleeping [and snoring!] at kookoo's beach. Tambobo bay could be reached from kookoo's by foot. We paid P100 per person at Kookoo's for entrance fee, but its consumable.

The food is kind-of expensive if you're on a budget. But if you're not, the price is reasonable, and reasonably good too. We ordered chopsuey, which had a peppery taste to it [unlike the sweet chopsuey I'm used to] and chicken satay. They also bake fresh breads and pitas.

Casaroro: [in Valencia, west of Dumaguete] about 15 minutes by jeepney, and another 15 minutes by habal-habal, plus a 20-minute walk from the road to the falls. Entrance fee is P50 per person + P10 [I think] for a cottage.

st. isidore the farmer parish church

Construction of the church started in 1884 by the Augustinian Recollects headed by P. Toribio Sanchez. The walls of the church are believed to be corals or huge stones from the ocean, joined together by a mixture of mortar and egg whites. The floors of the church is built of tugas.

Lazi honors St. Isidore the Farmer as its patron saint, and celebrates a fiesta in his honor every May

It’s an opportunity to do something nice for your community, your health and your planet. Here are seven simple ideas for change.

1. Save time and a lot of paper: Switch to tree-free billing and pay those bills online with the click of a button or an automatic debit. Approximately one billion trees-worth of paper are trashed each year in the U.S., and hard copy bills alone generate almost 700,000 tons of waste and almost two million tons of carbon dioxide. Both you and the planet will be happier without the excess garbage.

2. Take it a step further by preserving forests, which provide habitat for all sorts of Earth’s creatures and remove carbon dioxide from the air. Donate to Plant-I, 2020, which will plant an indigenous tree for each dollar you give or join the Nature Conservancy in their Plant a Billion Trees program and donate to p...

a seemingly perfect place

while many people, including me, would boast that siquijor is one peaceful and seemingly perfect place, news broke out that a family -- a lawyer, his parents, his brothers and in-laws, and some friends -- were captured in a buy-bust operations by PDEA 7. the PDEA found packets of shabu in the lawyer's office, his house, and that of his parents'. we boast of having the lowest crime rate in the region.

while we boast of beautiful beaches and friendly people, we are not separate from the world. we also have problems that infest our bigger neighbors -- crime, drugs, extramarital affairs, graft and corruption, poverty, teenage pregnancies, unemployment. siquijodnons are also lining up to buy the cheaper nfa rice.
